4th International Exergy, Energy and Environment Symposium

IEEES-4 is the fourth of a series of symposia that focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of Exergy, Energy, and Environment (3E's)for sustainable future. The symposium is a unique opportunity for exchanging information and presenting recent results as well as discussing all relevant topics on 3 E's. Papers on topics such as 3 E's covering all engineering areas and other disciplines will be most welcome.

Topics include alternative refrigerants, designing HVAC systems, A/C for high rise buildings, Inddor air quality, Dynamic wall, Energy estimating methods, Life-cycle costs, Energy considerations of air systems, Air-water systems, all water systems, all air systems, Cooling system design, and Dessicant dehumidification systems.

Combustion Technology

This track focuses on experimental and theroetical investigations of combustion phenomena and closely allied matters such as atmospheric poluution from combustion; combustion in pratical systems, deflagration and detonation waves;experimental techniques; flame inhibtion; stability and structure; fluid dynamics and combustion; kinetics and mechanisms of combustion reactions; limits of flammability and of spontaneous ignition; microgravity combustion processes; thermal descomposition processes; laminar and turbulent flames.

Desalination Technologies

Topics include all aspects of different technologies in desalination, desalting and purification fileds, technological and industrial development. The track welcomes research papers in all aspects of the field and encourages papers on new and advanced technologies for water treatment and for the development of hybrid systems. All desalting fields are covered - distillation, membranes, revers osmosis, electrodialysis, ion exchange, freezing, water purification, and water reuse.

Energetic, Exergetic, Environmental and Sustainability Modeling

This track focuses on energetic, exergetic, environmental and sustainability analyses and modeling of renewable and sustainable energy processes and systems such as, particularly, cogeneration and trigeneration, gasification, biofuel processes and systems, PEMFC and SOFC applications, hydrogen production and storage, drying, solar power, wind power, hydropower, biopower. In addition to these, global warming issues, CO2 production and minimization, etc. are also considered.

Energy Conservation & Analysis

This track provides a forum for information on innovation, reserach, and development in the areas of energy conversion and conservation, the optimal use of energy resources, analysis and optimization of energy processes and systems, and sustaible energy systems. Topics include the various aspects of energy conservation and analysis of engineering systems, modeling and forecasting, conservation strategies, social and economic impacts of energy policies and usage.

Energy Management in Industrial Sectors

This track provides a forum for presenting original contribution of interdisciplinary and original research in energy efficiency and management and energy management systems.

Entropy & Exergy Analyses

topics includes methods of enetropy and exegy analysis, entropy generation minimization, second law efficiencyo of energy and fluid flow systems, exergy utilization, irreversible process modeling, exergy waste and emissions, system design, computastional simulation, and experimantation.

Exergy Accounting & Analysis

Topics include exergy accounting and analysis of enegineering systems, environmental modeling, and exergo-economics analysis.

Fules & Alternatives

Topics include bio-fuels, fuel cells, and all other types of fuels.

Green Buildings

Covers the use of updated technologies in builgings and green building rating system.

Heat & Mass Transfer

This track provides a forum for the exchange of the basic ideas in heat and mass transfer between research workers and engineers throughout the world. Particular emphasis is focused on both analytical and experimental research, and highest priority is given to those contributions which increse the basic understanding of transfer processes and their applications to engineering problems. Topics covered include new methods of measuring and/or correlating transport-property data, energy and environmental applications of heat and/or mass transfer.

Industrial Ecology

This track focuses on the growing field of industrial ecology that systematically examines local, regional and global materials and energy uses and flows in products, processes, industrial sectors and economies. It focuses on the potential role of industry in reducing environmental burdens throughout the product life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials, to the production of goods, to the use of those goods and the management of the resulting wastes.

Modeling of Energy Systems

Topics include analytical and computational modeling of all energy systems. These systems include power plants, air condirtioning and refrigeration systems.

New & Clean Energy Technologies

This track focuses on the forms and utilizations of energy that have no, minimal, or reduced impact on environment and society. Emphasis is placed on energy diversity, energy localization and energy security. Analytical, numerical, and experimental investigations of all aspects of energy and energy technologies are welcome, ranging from fundamentals to practical applications, from energy resources to energy consumption and the consequnces of energy use.

Refrigeration & Heat Pump Systems

Topics include analytical, numerical, and experimental investigations of all refrigeration and heat pump systems.

Renewable Energy

This track focuses on the various topics and technologies of renewable energy and its impact on the GCC contries. The scope of the track encompasses photovoltaic technology conversion, solar thermal applications, biomass conversion, wind energy technology, solar energy, geothermal energy, wave and tide, ocean thermal energies. Topics include all types of renewable energy and its importance to the GCC countries.

Sustainable Buildings

Topics include all types of technology and methods of design and assessment of sutainable buildings.

Sustainable Development

This track focuses on problems related to reducing the environmental impact of engineering systems, processes and products. It welcomes papers that include economic and social components that complement the engineering dimensions, consider the management of sustainable engineering, or address the modeling of sustainable engineering solutions.

Thermal Systems & Applications

This track focuses on design, modeling and simulation of all thermal systems. Topics include all applications of thermal systems are welocme.

Thermodynamics Optimization

This track focuses on optimization methods for all thermodynamics processes and cycles.
